Crisis Camp Philly 09

Welcome to the Crisis Camp Philly event. We hope to continue the momentum started by the first Crisis Camp which was in Washington DC, in June of 2009. For more information on what they started please go their site at http://crisiscamp.org/. (wiki link)

Crisis Camp Philly will bring together disability advocates and policy makers, domain experts, developers,crisis mapping experts, disability studies scholars, assistive technology experts, public health students and practioners , international, national and local NGOs, film makers and people of all abilities to explore the limits of Universal Design as it applies to Disaster Mitigation through Innovation, Collaboration and Inclusion.
The goal will be to develop requirements and guidelines to support the initiative that started with CrisisCampDC: Improving technology and practice for humanitarian crisis management and disaster management.

The Event is tentativelyscheduled to run from 9:00AM (EST) Saturday October 24th to 4:00 PM, Sunday afternoon.
If you are wondering if this means it is going around the clock, yes it is. This is to allow for international participationspanning over different internationaltime zones.

The evening schedule from 9:00P to 8:00AM on Sunday will be based on committed presentations and over flow activity from the day session.

You are responsible to bring your own computer if you need one. We are working on providing wireless connectivity. You are welcome to participatewith or without technology, but the key thing is participationand collaboration.

Although the Tickets are "free" I ask that you committo your participationif you register for a ticket. If you can not participateplease contact me at gheake@temple.edu or 215-204-7177 there are limited amount of "seats" and/or connections for web participation.
